LFT Day 3: Qeema Wala Naan and Benazir Qulfa
Today started out with shopping at Liberty. All that walking and variety of clothes makes you really hungry man. I put it all down in a vlog today, the trip through the colorful dupatta gali, and then off to the really local desi dhaabas for food later.
See the tour here:
And for the rest of you, here's the beautiful photos:
Guriya ke Baal
Basically Cotton Candy for Pakistanis, this is the dessert I grew up eating and loving, so had to give in!
Spicy Sweet Potata
Wasn't as spicy as it claimed to be, but definitely worth eating. Fresh, healthy, and also one of those perfect nostalgia snacks from when we were little and used to go to Melas all the time! :D
After snacking and shopping at Liberty, I headed straight to try authentic local food at one of the highly recommended places, Bhatti Tikka House, which is located on Jail Road. It's known for it's Qeema walay Naan and that's what I tried. The restaurant's been running since the 60's so that's saying something I suppose.
Layered with Desi butter on top, served with fresh Raita. I wouldn't call it out of this world, but it was definitely a treat to the taste buds in the truest of Lahori fashion (you know lots of oil and fat).
Benazir ka Kulfa
This here isn't your ordinary Kulfa. I've never tried Kulfa this creamy in my life. Made from desi khoya, this kulfa is definitely definitely a must try. Also located on Jail Road next to Bhatti Tikka.
And this marks the end of Day 1 of my Food Tour in Lahore. If you liked it or found it interesting, leave a comment below.
